Major Russian Attacks Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while local people in the city's east were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a minor was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Moscow has escalated attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and applying sanctions," was stated in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty projectiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles damaged electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region came under intense attacks overnight. A minor lost their life and several individuals were hurt.

The assaults come after evenings of aerial attacks in the area, portions of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to spot.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
